F . A . Q
Q: Is Royal Corinthian Inc. a manufacturer?
A: For almost two decades Royal Corinthian Inc. has been the largest polymer stone manufacturer in the world. From our location in the Chicago area, we have been able to operate nationally as well as globally while still maintaining a close relationship with each of our customers. We also manufacture fiberglass columns under our RoyalCast brand.
Q: Do you sell directly to customers?
A: No, we do business with numerous distributors in the United States. Please call for contact information.
Q: What is the material used in your products?
A: Marble dust and polymer resin are the main components in our material. Depending on the product, a different percentage of each component is added to create our distinct polymer-stone blend. Our fiberglass columns are reinforced with fiberglass strand.
Q: Is the product/material strong?
A: Our mixture is extremely durable. The polymer resin is used as a bonding element that also works as a moisture repellent. Marble dust is used to add a quality stone resemblance.
Q: What products do you offer?
A: Originally, Royal Corinthian Inc. was a manufacturer and distributor of architectural columns and balustrade systems. We are still primarily focused on producing architectural columns and balustrade systems, but because of our extremely versatile material, have been able to branch out into many other architectural productions. Fireplaces, window and door surrounds, quoins, medallions, corbels, friezes and cornices are some of the additional products that we can produce from our material. Because the material we use has a modest amount of limits, we can provide our customers the option of customizing their order if needed. If you want to place an order please contact a sales associate by calling us at (888) 265-8661.
Q: What is the weight scale of the material?
A: Unless specified, most our products are made hollow in order to cut the weight of the product and to help make installation easier. Specific weights of each product can be obtained online, under each products section, or customers can call directly for assistance.
Q: Do you offer installation?
A: We do offer installation of our products. To acquire installation, contact a sales associate and specify your request for installation. If you choose to install the product on your own you can click on this link to help you with the installation steps.
Q: Can your products be painted?
A: Our RoyalStone products do not require paint because a variety of pigments are added to accumulate a desired color that is mixed throughout the material. If you do decide to paint the product, use an oil-based paint. However, RoyalCast fiberglass columns need to be painted.
Q: How do you clean polymer-stone products?
A: A simple power wash will clean out a polymer-stone product.
Q: Can your architectural columns be split?
A: Because our architectural columns are made hollow in the center, they can be split at a customer’s request to fit around existing polls, beams, or posts.
Q: Are your architectural columns load-bearing?
A: All our architectural columns are made load-bearing but not if they are split, however, they are not structural columns. This means that the architectural columns are able to sustain a large weight from collapsing, but cannot prevent damage from a sideways or upward force. For this reason, there is always a beam or post that is placed inside a column to fully sustain a structure. The architectural columns are then wrapped around for decorative purposes. Click hear for the listed load bearing capacities.
Q: Is the material weather resistant?
A: The polymer resin component used in our products helps our material absorb moisture at a very slow rate (.0001) that makes our products weather resistant.
Q: Are these interior or exterior columns?
A: All Royal Corinthian Inc. architectural columns are made to accompany interior and exterior environments.
Q: How are your products shipped?
A: At Royal Corinthian we will typically organize transportation through our own trucks. Depending on the size of an order, it is also possible that a qualified shipping company is used, as well as UPS and other shippers.
Q: What if I receive a damaged shipment?
A: With our extremely meticulous packaging process it is rare that a shipment is received damaged. But if it should happen, the customer needs to specify damages before accepting the shipment. It is strongly recommended that the customer also contact their sales representative before accepting a shipment. For further inquiry please call (888) 265-8661.
Q: Can I return my order?
A: Any standard or stock items that have not sustained damage and are in proper condition can be returned with approval. Royal Corinthian reserves the right to charge a restocking fee for any returned products. For more information regarding returns or our restocking fee call (888) 265-8661.
Q: Can the height of your architectural columns be adjusted?
A: Royal Corinthian architectural columns are made so that you can trim the bottom to fit specific heights. Because our architectural columns are tapered, cutting too much from the bottom can increase the gap between shaft and base. We can adjust bases to fit properly at an additional charge.
Q: Do your architectural balustrade systems meet code?
A: We carry a large selection of architectural balustrade systems that meet several different codes. Our large selection simplifies the task of meeting style and regulation codes required by cities. Because different cities have different regulations, we recommend that customers contact the city they reside in before placing an order. For information regarding regulation codes please call (888) 265-8661.
Q: How much height do a capital and base add to an architectural column?
A: Unless it is a decorative capital, no additional height is added to an architectural column. The bases and standard capitals on our architectural columns wrap around the column shaft. Because decorative capitals are placed on top of a column shaft, instead of wrapping around, each different size will add an additional amount to the total height of the architectural column. All caps and bases add to the height of our Twist (Rope) Columns. For more information call (888) 265-8661.
